THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Youth Congress leaders have decided to take out a Secretariat march today and continue the on going indefinite fast in front of the Secretariat after their talks with Health Minister Shailaja on Monday failed. It has also been decided to intensify the strike.
The leaders said the talks failed as the government was not willing to roll back the fee hike and change the conditions in the agreement made with the managements.
The minister said the youth congress was making impractical demands and neither the students nor parents have opposed the fee hike.
Even the government didn't accept the leaders' demand for reducing fee in Pariyaram Medical College run by it.
Meanwhile, the leaders have pinned their hopes on the Supreme court order on the issue which will be out within two days. The minister said the government would take a decision in this regard after the verdict was known.
