THODUPUZHA: Two migrant labourers including a 17-year-old boy were arrested today in connection with the case in which a couple was attacked and robbed of gold and cash in Thodupuzha on Uthradam day of Onam.
The two persons were arrested in the morning in Palakkad and they were taken to Thodupuzha police station.
Meanwhile, the police are proceeding with their search for Odisha natives Ramesh and Chinku, the first and second accused respectively.
Thodupuzha’s prominent businessman, petrol pump owner Prakash Krishnan Nair’s son Krishna Vilasam Balachandran (Balu 58) and his wife Sreeja (51) were attacked by miscreants on the day before Thiruvonam.
The robbers entered the house past midnight, overpowered the couple, tied up their hands and stole Rs 1.75 lakh, four sovereign gold and two mobile phones.
