THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: BJP president V Muraleedharan has made statements before the Vigilance officials in connection with corruption charges levelled against leaders from different political parties.
Vigilance director Jacob Thomas had earlier written to Muraleedharan regarding corruption allegations raised against Left-Right leaders. It was in this regard that he reached the Kozhikode office Special Cell SP and gave more information. The recording of statement continued for about one hour.
Muraleedharan had sought an inquiry into the “source of money invested in car accessories-fancy lights-furniture business establishment chains developed by CPI State Secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan’s sons across Kerala, the amount of Rs 42 lakh spent by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan’s son to study in Birmingham University, money paid for CPM leader V S Achuthanandan’s grandchildren’s MBBS admission through management quota and the money spent by former health minister V S Sivakumar to buy a multi-speciality hospital in Thiruvananthapuram.”
Muraleedharan said he hoped that Vigilance would conduct more inquiry in this regard. The Centre would also be requested to examine allegations involving political leaders.
