Thiruvananthapuram: The Beverages Corporation on Friday decided to increase the prices of Indian-made foreign liquor(IMFL) in the state. Liquor companies have been given approval to increase the prices from October onwards.
As per the new decision, prices will rise by Rs 25-75 for 750 ml bottles. The authorities informed that the price hike wass to increase the profit share of beverages corporation.
Though the price will be hiked from October 1, it will come into effect only on October 3 as October 2 and 3 are holidays.
The new price list has been published in the Beverages Corporation's website.
The LDF government had decided to made changes in the liquor policy of the UDF. The UDF had decided to close down 10 per cent of liquor outlets in the state on Gandi Jayanthi every year. However, the present government decided not to close down outlets on Gandhi Jayanthi.
