Sunday, September 04, 2011: The Medical college police have arrested
one person for allegedly manhandling a doctor at the Medical College
Hospital after his father had died at the hospital on Friday night.
The person has been identified as Suhaib, the police are also
searching for his brother Sulfiqar who also physically took on the
doctor and shattered the windows of the ICU.
Suhaib has been arrested on charges of physically assaulting the
doctor, for deliberately impeding the duty of the doctor and for
destroying government property.
The scuffle started last night when Meera Sahib, native of Azhikode
died of cardiac arrest and the patient’s relatives alleged that he had
died due to negligence of the duty doctor.
The duty doctor identified as Dr Belwan and Dr Kripesh were
manhandled by the patient’s relatives alleging delay in the treatment.
Belwan is under treatment in the hospital.
