CPM proposes Guruvayur model for Padmanabhaswamy temple

Monday, September 19, 2011: CPM state secretary Pinarayi Vijayan on Monday said that the administration of the famous Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple should be like the famous Sri Krishna Temple in Guruvayur.
Talking to mediapersons here, he said that the assets of the temple are the country’s wealth and how it should be utilized should be discussed.
Pinarayi said, “The administration is now in the hands of the Travancore royal family. The Guruvayur Temple was earlier in the hands of Zamorin but now it is under a panel including his representative. Similarly, a new administration panel should be formed including a representative of the royal family.” Pinarayi said the royal family does not have the right to hold the country’s wealth.
