Tuesday, September 20, 2011: The march taken out by the activists of
the Students Federation of India (SFI) to the Secretariat, turned
violent today.
The march was staged against the police excesses towards LDF’s youth
wing organisations during a protest against the increase in price rise.
The whole area resembled a battlefield with the marchers fleeing from
the police and throwing stones at the police. The police resorted to
lathicharge to disperse the agitated mob. Many activists were injured in
the incident.
