Wednesday, October 05, 2011: Police on Tuesday claimed to have solved
the daylight heist, in which over 1,000 sovereigns were looted from the
Tirupur branch of Muthoot Mini Finance Ltd, with the arrest of six
persons, including a former employee.
A six-member armed gang struck at Muthoot Mini Finance Ltd, a
Kerala-based non-banking finance company, and decamped with 1,381
sovereigns of gold jewellery on September 24.
After interrogating over 100 people, police arrested seven persons.
The stolen jewellery has also been recovered, a top police official
said. Investigations were continuing to find out if more people were
involved in the robbery, the official said.
