Kochi: Medical trust hospital authorities
said that the surgery for attaching the severed foot of one-and-a-half year-old
Devika has not been successful. The attending doctors said that the foot from
ankle downwards was completely crushed.
Devika's foot was severed after the scooter driven by Devika's mother Divya rammed against a truck at Kayamkulam Thursday. Divya died on the spot. Devika's severed foot was taken to Specialists Hospital in Kochi with help from traffic police personnel who regulated traffic in the nearly 100 km stretch of the National Highway like in the film `Traffic' .
Divya's mother Shyamala is currently admitted in medical college hospital with injuries.
