Aryadan calls for consensus on Athirappilly project


Sunday, November 20, 2011: Electricity Minister Aryadan Muhammad today informed that both the ruling as well as the opposition members must try to work out a consensus for successfully implementing the Athirappilly hydro electric project.
Speaking to the reporters here on Sunday, Minister opined that misconception that the project will lead to serious environmental impact.
The government proposed a 163 MW Athirappilly hydro power project but agencies such as the Chalakudy Puzha Samrakshana Samiti and other cultural societies are against this project.
