Ice-cream case: Witnesses’ complaint handed over to SIT


Sunday, November 20, 2011: The complaints of Bindu and Roselin, main witnesses in the sensational Kozhikode ice-cream parlour sex scandal case have been handed over to the special investigating team.
The complaint is that one Sherif influenced them to give statement in favour of Minister P K Kunhalikutty. In the complaint lodged at the Nadakkavu police station, they had stated that Sherif had threatened to give statement in favour of them as power is in their hands. Special investigating official Jayson K Abraham will examine the complaint.
They had earlier sent letters to chief minister and opposition leader and also stated that Kunhalikutty had physically assaulted them.
According to reports, the Minister’s aid identified as Sherif had threatened the victims to retract their statements. The ice-cream parlour sex scandal occurred during 2005-06.
Kunhalikutty was defeated in the Kuttipuram Assembly seat, which was considered to be the safest seat of IUML. Rauf was the close aide of Kunhalikutty then in settling all the issues.
After the elections, the two co-brothers parted ways and Rauf was involved in a 300 acre land case in Maharashtra. He was behind the bars for three months.
