Five killed in separate road accidents in Alappuzha

Alappuzha, Tuesday, November 2, 2011: Five persons were killed in two separate road accidents that occurred in Alappuzha district on Tuesday morning. One accident occurred near Cherthala in which three persons were killed when a KSRTC bus collided with a bike.
The dead have been identified as bus conductor Prasad (32), motorcyclist Saravanan (18) and another pillion rider, police told. Prasad, the bus conductor was thrown out of the bus during the impact and was run over by another vehicle.
The second accident occurred near Alappuzha Kalarkode when a motorbike rammed into an electric post killing two. The dead have been identified as Monu-native of Thiruvalla and Piyush, hailing from Kuttanad, police told.
Even though they were immediately rushed to the nearby hospital, they succumbed to injuries.
