Paravur sex scandal; identification parade tomorrow

Friday, November 18, 2011: The Crime Branch team investigating the sensational Paravur sex scandal case has decided to conduct an identification parade of the accused on Saturday.
The case relates to the sexual exploitation of a minor girl many including her own father by promising her role in films. The parade would be held at Viyyoor Central jail. The identification parade would be held under the Perumbavoor Judicial Magistrate.
Earlier Reports:-
The accused identified as Dr. Hari Abdul Aziz, who has been absconding, was apprehended by the probe team from Nedumbassery Airport, sources said. The probe team had earlier issued a look-out notice against him.
According to the Crime Branch officials, it was the girl’s father who provided the girl to Shiva. The girl was allegedly sexually abused by the production controller at a lodge in Kannur. The other two accused had also taken the girl to various places for allegedly sexually abusing her.
The sexual abuse of the 14-year-old girl came to light three months ago after her mother lodged a complaint before the police submitting that her husband had forcibly taken the daughter to prostitution. Based on the submissions made by the girl and the mother, the police registered a case and launched a probe.
Though the police were able to arrest a few persons, including the girl’s father and mother in connection with the case, the government handed over the investigation to Crime Branch after there were allegations that the police were trying to help a few high-profile persons belonging to film industry.
