MM Hassan warns party men against public statements

Monday, November 21, 2011: Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) spokesperson, MM Hassan today warned the party men against public statements on the UDF government’s new liquor policy.
Speaking to the reporters here on Monday, Congress leader stated that such public statements will not do any good for the party. Responsible leaders must point out such issues during the party meeting, he added.
Hassan was responding to Senior Congress leader VM Sudheeran’s suggestion for an amendment in the state government’s new liquor policy, saying it would have an adverse impact for UDF in the Piravom by-poll.
Meanwhile United Democratic Front (UDF) sub committee headed by Hassan has decided to hold a meeting on Wednesday to discuss about the liquor policy announced by the government.
Accusing the UDF for deviating from its Abkari policy adopted in its meeting, he alleged that it implemented a different policy that favoured liquor mafias in the State.
Sudheeran said he was constrained to talk on the issue publicly after his suggestions opposing the policy in the party foras went unheard.
