BJP activist attacked

THRISSUR: Suspected CPI (M) activists assaulted a BJP activist, at Kallur in Thrikkur panchayat. The activist, Ambady, 26, son of Meppurathu Vijayan, has been admitted with head injuries to the Government Hospital, Puthukkad. Ambady had defected from the CPI (M) to the BJP eight months ago. He alleged that CPI (M) workers had repeatedly threatened to harm him. Puthukkad Constituency BJP president V V Rajesh alleged that CPI (M) was unleashing violence against those who had defected from the party.
