Kerala: Forest minister's resignation sought

KOTTAYAM: Kerala Congress (B) president Appachan Vettithanam today demanded resignation of Forest minister Ganesh Kumar from the ministry "as he is not obeying the party."
Speaking to mediapersons here, Appachan said "if Kumar is not obedient to the party, its chairman and his father R Balakrishna Pillai it is very difficult for him to continue in the KC(B), an ally of United Democratic Front."
The course of action to be taken against Kumar will be decided by the state executive committee meeting of the party to be held tomorrow in Kozhikode, he said.
Earlier, Kumar said that he would not resign from the cabinet as he had not done anything wrong.
He said that his party was hijacked by a "group of corrupt persons" who were now ruling it. The party should be redeemed from them, he said.
"KC(B) is a secular party and it will go ahead maintaining its secular identity."
