Tuesday, May 01, 2012: Rain occurred at a few places in Kerala and dry weather prevailed over Lakshadweep.
The chief amounts of rainfall reports in cm are – Aluva & Perumbavur (both in Ernakulam district), Chalakudy (Thrissur district) & Varkala
(Thiruvananthapuram district) 2 each and Thiruvananthapuram city, Enamackel & Kunnamkulam (both in Thrissur district), Kuppady (Wayanad district), Konni (Pathanamthitta district), Mancompu (Alappuzha district), Thrissur & Thrithala (Palakkad district) 1 each.
Maximum temperature fell appreciably in Kottayam & Thiruvananthapuram districts, fell in Alappuzha & Kollam districts, was above normal in Kannur district, appreciably below normal in Kollam &
Thiruvananthapuram districts, below normal in Alappuzha & Kottayam districts and changed little in the remaining districts. Kannur recorded the highest maximum temperature of 36 degree Celsius.
Generally cloudy sky with a spell of shower/thundershower. No significant change is expected in maximum temperature which will be around 32 degree Celsius.
