SC stops arrest in land allotment to VS’ kin case


NEW DELHI: The Supreme Court stopped procedures including arrest in connection with the land allotment to the kin of the then chief minister V S Achuthanandan. The directive came soon after the court accepted the plea of T K Soman, ex-serviceman and kin of VS.


The court ordered to send notices to the state government, opponents in the case. The counsel for Soman said that as the case is politically motivated, all procedures in the case should be stopped.


The case is that 2.33 acres of land in Sheni village was allotted to Soman and his wife when VS was the chief minister.  
The vigilance had recommended registering case against V S Achuthanandan as the first accused and former revenue minister K P Rajendran as the second accused.
