MALAPPURAM: The Areekode police arrested K K Sheriff (30) for killing his wife and two children after the bike ridden by him plunged into a water logged paddy field. Sherif told police that he killed his wife Sabira (21) and children Fathima Fida (5) and Fathima Nida, aged one and a half years old.
He committed the murder after this wife opposed his second marriage and also asked him to return back her ornaments. The accident happened Monday morning at Alukkal at 2.30 am. Sabira’s family members were suspicious on the incident. The police team and local residents who visited the spot also raised suspicion.
Sherif was taken into custody and on questioning him the accident proved to be a murder. Sherif sustained only minor injuries in the accident. Sherif told police that the tyre of the vehicle was punctured and fell into the field after losing control. But on examining found that the tyre was not punctured.
