Two more gas tankers washed ashore in Kasargod

KASARGOD: Much to the anxiety of local people, two more gas tankers were washed ashore at separate places in this northern-most district of the state.

Police said apart from three capsule-shaped tankers found at Berika shore near Kumbala yesterday, similar liquid carrier each were washed ashore at Kasargod and Bekal this morning.

They said the coastal police had taken summary of the objects but had no idea about the contents.

Stating fishermen had spotted football-like materials and a refrigerator floating in the sea recently, they said probably these were detached from a shop.

People thronging the localities were not allowed to go near the tankers, they said adding a Coast Guard team was expected to arrive from Kochi to carry out inspection.
