Magistrate has no right to disqualify advocate, says Pinarayi

KOCHI: A magistrate has no right to disqualify an advocate after a client hands him a case, said CPM state secretary Pinarayi Vijayan. The leader criticized the court after they avoided the advocate from recording the statement of Saritha S Nair, the accused in the solar case.

There are other services in the bar council to remove the counsel if he is not good. But the court has not stated why Fenny Balakrishnna, the counsel of the accused, has been removed, Pinarayi said while partaking in the 24 hour strike staged in the district.

Saritha had informed the court earlier whatever she has to say. Why the court failed to record her statement then. It cannot be blamed if suspected that more time was given to stop the recording of the statement, he said.
