Surpassing all hurdles and confusions, Casanova, in which
superstar Mohanlal is in a new avatar, would hit the theaters for Christmas.
The film was announced by Director Roshan Andrews after Notebook. But due to
some reasons that were delayed further and after many years of its
announcement, finally the film would be released on December 16.The main challenge for the film is its budget. When the real estate `Confident group' took over the production, there were hopes. But due to some reasons or the other the film got further delayed. There were reports that the film was abandoned. In the dates given by Mohanlal for the film, Roshan Andrews shot another film `Ividam Swargamanu'. After that film, Casanova again came for discussion and for cutting the budget the film was shot in different location than what was decided and completed in four schedules.
During shooting, Mohanlal met with a minor accident but was saved. Of all his films, this one is Mohanlal's big budget film. The film was completely shot in foreign locations. The cost of production is estimated to be Rs 8 crore. The film being distributed by Ashirwad Cinemas would be released in 125 theaters. The leading heroines are Sreya Saran, Lakshmi Rai, Roma and Sanjana and apart from them five super models have also acted. Lal plays the role of international flower seller. Jagathi, Lalu Alex are also starring in the movie.
