Dish+ comes to fill VCR gap

Targeting the electronic-savvy Kerala market and the Onam festival, Dish TV, the pioneer in DTH telecast services in India,  has introduced one of its newest technology product, ‘Dish+’, classified as the first standard definition box in India.

Priced at Rs 1690, as a special introductory offer, with a free 4-GB pen drive, DishTV aims to capture the 25 per cent Kerala’s electronics product market.

Inaugurating the launch of the product, Abhay Metkar, senior vice-president of sales, said that after VCRs had been swept away from the market, there had been a vacuum in direct recording facility for long, and Dish+ is going to fill that vacuum.”

Dish+ is designed with fine detailing - curved edges, sleekness and feather touch buttons.

Users can simply plug an existing USB stick or HDD and play. With all recording facilities like playing back, pausing and rewinding, and especially with event-based or time-based recording, one can build a genre based visual library for future use, said Abhay.
