One Keralite among 9 killed in mid-air chopper crash
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: One Keralite was among the 9 killed in the mid-air collision of two MI-17 helicopters near Jamnagar Air Force Station in Gujarat. He is identified as Manoj V. Nair, Squadron Leader at Sulur Air Force Station in Coimbatore.
Manoj went to Jamnagar for attending a four days’ training. He joined the Indian Air Force 10 years ago and has worked at several air force stations outside Kerala.
Manoj is a native of Pazhayakarakkamandapom near Nemom in Thiruvananthapuram district of KeralaManoj is the son of K. Viswambharan Nair, a former air force officer, and V. Sujetha. Rajalekshmi, who is also an air force officer, is Manoj’s wife. They have a four years’ old daughter Sharanya.
Manoj’s parents have gone to Jamnagar soon after hearing the news of Manoj’s death.
