Irregularities found in raid on village, forest office
KASARAGOD: Vigilance officials here have found gross irregularities during a surprise raid on a village and a forest office in the district. Simultaneous raids were carried out by two Vigilance teams on the village office at Kundamkuzhi and the Beemanadi forest range office at Karindalam, near Neeleswaram, on Friday afternoon as part of a State-wide drive titled ‘Operation Ona Kazhcha.’ The raids followed complaints of gross irregularities in select offices closely linked to the public. In the raid led by Vigilance Deputy Superintendent of Police P. Kunhiraman on the Beemanadi forest range office at Karindalam, the sleuths found Rs.2,200 in cash against the declared amount of Rs 13,000 collected from wood-laden trucks passing through the area.
