Youth killed, two hurt in accident

KANNUR: A youth was killed and two injured in an accident at Mangad, NH 17, under Kannapuram Police Limits in the early hours of Saturday. According to police, the dead was identified as Muhammed Sajir (37) who came to Kannur on leave from Gulf on August first week.

He died on the spot and the body was sent to Pariyaram Medical College (PMC) Hospital for post-mortem. Meanwhile, Vipin Kumar (22) of Mankara near Chapparakadavu and Girish (28) of Mavichery near Thaliparamaba who were injured, were admitted to PMC.

The accident occurred at 0630 hrs, when a car coming from Thaliparamaba collided with a private bus proceeding to Mangalore from Kannur at Mangad, NH 17, near Parassinikadavu, about 13 km from here.

Muhammed Sajir was driving his car from his wife's house at Thaliparamba and the other injured were the passengers of the private bus, police said. Muhammed Sajir is survived by his wife Hiba and two children Ayan and Diya.
