Urgent aid to calamity victims, says CM

NEW DELHI: Chief Minister of Kerala Oommen Chandy said that the request for maximum personnel from the National Disaster Response Force and navy for rescue operations in the calamity hit areas of northern Kerala has been dispatched.

The prevailing conditions are beyond the control of the government, and discussions shall be held in the cabinet meet which is to take place tomorrow and day after.

The matter of giving financial aid to the victims is under consideration and shall be discussed in the cabinet meet.

Ministers of Home and Revenue departments will visit the areas, he said.
