THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The secret evidence given by Sreedharan Nair from Konni, one of the complainants against the solar fraud case accused, to the Ranni Magistrate was made public by the private television channels in the state on Monday.
In his secret evidence, Sreedharan Nair says he met Saritha S. Nair, one of the accused in the case, along with Chief Minister Oommen Chandy on 9 July 2009. He also said that he gave Rs. 40 lakh to Saritha on the promise given by Oommen Chandy. Sreedharan Nair was first taken to Joppan’s cabin. Joppan later took him to CM’s office. It was Saritha who introduced him to the chief minister. Chief Minister was talking to Selvaraj at that time. Saritha S. Nair was revered by the staff at chief minister’s office. Chandy promised him to give support of state government in the solar project.
The revelation goes against the statement given by Oommen Chandy inside the state assembly earlier on Monday.
Chandy said that Sreedharan Nair had met him twice, but not in connection with the case. “It was as part of a delegation of quarry owners to communicate their grievances. Nair had never met me alone,” Chandy said in the assembly.
