Court harshly criticizes government in solar case

KOCHI: The Kerala High Court harshly criticized the government in the solar panel fraud case. Various benches of the Kerala High Court criticized the government while considering the plea of M K Kuruvila seeking to leave his complaint to the crime branch in the solar case and the bail plea of Shalu Menon arrested in the solar case.

Justice V K Mohan while considering the plea of M K Kuruvila asked whether the role of Chief Minister Oommen Chandy has been examined. In the complaint lodged, Kuruvila has stated that Saritha S Nair and Biju Radhakrishnan took money from him mentioning chief minister’s name.

Justice A S Sathish while considering Shalu Menon’s bail plea asked whether the government is hiding anything in the solar case. The steps taken by the police in the investigation of the case are embarrassing. The court said they will seek an explanation from the investigating official ADGP A Hemachandran.

The court said not taking the statement of Saritha, an accused in the case, is suspicious, and asked what steps were taken to recover the money amassed by Biju Radhakrishnan and Saritha S Nair. The court said it has to be suspected that government is trying to sabotage the case.
