Nothing wrong in bringing Shalu in her own car, says Chandy

KOTTAYAM: There is nothing wrong in bringing actress Shalu Menon, arrested in the solar fraud case, in her own car to the capital city, said Chief Minister Oommen Chandy. She was first taken into custody and arrested later, he explained.

Shalu was taken from Changanassery not as an accused and so she was allowed to come in her own car. The officials have been asked to produce the details on it. The investigation in the case is progressing and no lapses have been noticed.

The accused in this case were arrested in 2010 in a similar case but it was written off as a civil one. But now a criminal case has been registered. No special consideration will be given in this case. Law will take its own course. The guilty will be punished and the government cannot function according to one’s wish, he said.

Chandy said there is nothing unusual in the talks held between me and the home minister. The chief minister always holds talks with the ministers and officials.”

The government will go forward with the development of the state. Onam is round the corner. The government will take steps to control price rise, he said.
