THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Thiruvananthapuram Vigilance Court ordered a vigilance probe against opposition leader V S Achuthanandan and CPM state secretary Pinarayi Vijayan. The court ordered the probe while considering the plea of one Rajan stating that the government incurred a loss of Rs 3.5 crores for bringing advocates from the Supreme Court in the ice cream parlour and SNC Lavalin cases.
Instead of appointing government advocates, they were brought from the Supreme Court to argue the cases when V S Achuthanandan was the chief minister from 2006-2011.
An investigation will be conducted against former ministers Kodiyeri Balakrishnan and M Vijayakumar. The court has directed to submit the report by October 22.
