THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Opposition leader V S Achuthanandan, who walked out of the CPI (M) state meet venue on Saturday, stuck to his stand and returned to the capital city. The leader who started from his house in Punnappra at 3.45 am reached Cantonment House, his official residence, at 5.30 am. He informed his son Arun Kumar and left for the capital city.
The efforts taken to mollify him were not positive. It was hinted that VS would partake in the meeting today following the assurance of the politburo members that the issues voiced by him would be discussed. However, VS changed his decision late last night. VS had told his loyal that if he stays here, the people are likely to think that he is waiting for the party’s kindness.
VS had clarified that he would not compromise unless some of his demands like -withdraw the resolution against him and oust P K Kunhanandan and Manoj, accused in the TP murder case, from the party, are approved.
