Nun expelled for preventing priest’s 'molestation bid'

ALUVA:  A nun is allegedly facing life threat for taking guard against a priest’s molestation attempt. She is also facing threat of expulsion from the church, for that reason. Her fear is whether she will also have to face a similar situation faced by Sister Abhaya years ago.

This was revealed to Kerala Kaumudi by the nun herself. She has now taken refuge in Aluva Janaseva Sihubhavan , after being denied permission in Aluva Church convent. She told the reporter that she would give a complaint to top police officials once her relatives  from Kannur reached Aluva.

The complainant has been serving the convent under Italy Janova for the past thirteen years. Before that she had served in another convent for 12 years. She had to leave the convent as she allegedly came to witness immoral activities of the priest there. Thus, she was transferred to St Aagatha convent. Here she did three years’ formation course after which she awarded nun’s apron.

She said,  she came under attack while she was staying in a convent at Pachar in Madhya Pradesh. The priest, who was from Idukki, had made sexual advances on her but she managed to escape from him. After that she was shifted to Italy. For two years she worked as  a teacher in a convent there. On January 1, she received an order from Mother Superior to renounce the nunhood.
