THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The government has decided not to receive the payment for Lalisom, which Mohanlal has sent back. The government decided on Wednesday that it need not accept Rs 1.63 core from Mohanlal.
The actor had earlier, through an email to the government, had expressed his willingness to return the money.
In a meeting of ministers, it was opined that taking back the money was unbecoming of government’s dignity and decency. The decision to not accept the money followed this.
Meanwhile, Mohanlal has sent back the money he had received from the government. He had sent to Games CEO’s account a cheque in the amount of Rs 1,63,776,00, via speed post.
