THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The indefinite strike called by private bus employees from tomorrow seeking a hike in wages has been postponed. Bus employees’ panel decided to postpone the strike following the talks held with Labour Minister Shibu Baby John. The organization withdrew from the strike after the minister assured to take a favorable stand on the things voiced by the employees. The office bearers of the organization told reporters that they would begin the strike from March 11 if their demands are not met.
Five from labour unions, bus owners and state labour commissioner took part in
the meeting. The employees’ main demand was an increase of Rs 5000 in their monthly salary. However, the bus owners agreed for a hike of Rs 2000.
