Volvo bus overturns, killing three

NAGARCOIL: Three persons died when a Nagercoil-bound Volvo bus from Thiruvananthapuram  overturned on Friday, killing three passengers. Twelve passengers got injured in the mishap that occurred at Kavil Kinar region between Nagercoil and Thirunelveli.    

The reason for the accident has been attributed to bursting of the rear tyre at a turning. The bus belongs to Kallada transport.  
The dead have been identified as Albert (59) from Thirunelveli, Shamsudhin (49) from Kulasekharan and Ashiq Chaudhary from Dhanpath. They fell under the bus and died on the spot.

The bus was later lifted using a crane by the fire force and a team of policemen led by District Police Superintendent Narendran Nair. Police later informed that though there were Malayali passengers were inside the bus none of them sustained any worrisome injury.
