THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The reason for the -withdrawal of the Adani Group from the Vizhinjam Harbour Project is the vagueness of the Cabotage Law, said Chief Minister Oommen Chandy. Held talks with the representatives of the company. Briefing reporters after the weekly cabinet briefing, the chief minister said they brought to our notice the vagueness in the law and we in turn assured them to solve it.
Chandy said talks will be held with the other two companies who withdrew from the tender. The problems in connection with the Cabotage Law have been brought to the notice of the union government. Hope to get relaxation, he said.
The LDF has the right to expand the front. In reply to a question, he said none from the UDF will go to the LDF. They have faith in UDF’s strength. The government was able to function smoothly in the last four years due to public support and it would continue.
Chandy said sarcastically, ‘Let the LDF split into two or three parties and expand the CPM.’
I have not helped the accused in the solar case in any way. When accused Manilal’s brother called, asked him to contact Manaloor MLA. In reply to another question, Chandy said he spoke to his brother as he is a relative of a jailed person
