Lalisom: Lokayukta seeks report

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Lokayukta has asked the chief secretary to submit a detailed report on the steps taken by the government, following the controversy over Lalisom, conducted at the inaugural ceremony of the National Games.

The report should be submitted before February 16. The court’s instruction came in response to a petition filed by a Thiruvananthapuram-based complainant, seeking a probe into the alleged corruption surrounding Lalisom programme.

In the petition, sports minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan is the first defendant and Mohanlal is the fifth respondent. The petition also alleges that there had been attempts to embezzle Central-State funds in the name of Lalisom
