ALAPPUZHA: A M Ariff MLA said on Saturday that he would not quit CPM and there is no factionalism within the party. Ariff was responding to Alappuzha DCC president A A Shukoor’s statement welcoming Ariff to the Congress fold.
At a recent seminar in Alappuzha, which is going to be the venue for CPM State conference, former minister G Sudhakaran and Ariff locked horns.
Sudhakaran got annoyed when Ariff arrived late for the seminar. In the verbal that followed Ariff reportedly threatened Sudhakaran that he didn’t fear to quit MLA post and other party positions. Shukoor’s invitation followed this.
