THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Oommen Chandy has said that the government has no plans to cut the expenditure of the valedictory function of National Games. “Things will be done as decided in 2011. The government is preparing a project to protect the stadiums in the State. Stadiums are the State’s asset,” Chandy said at a press conference here on Wednesday.
Regarding Lalisom programme, the chief minister said the government has not decided on how to utilise the money returned by Mohanlal. "The matter will discussed with him again. Lal was approached in the last minute and the inconvenience caused to him by the event is regretted,” the minister said.
The cabinet meeting convened today has decided to examine all the accounts related to the National Games. The local fund audit department has been asked to submit the report on the accounts within 45 days from the conclusion of the National Games.
To another question, the chief minister said he would resume his mass contact programme, very soon.
