Complaint only against Lalisom, says Thiruvanchoor

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: There is a complaint only against Lalisom performed at the inaugural function of the national games, said Sports Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan.

There were no criticisms against the programmes performed just before Lalism, the minister said. Talking to the media, he said there were widespread criticisms against Lalisom in social medias.

Thiruvanchoor said the criticisms against Lalisom have pained the actor. I had a telephonic conversation with him. He behaved politely even after such insult and pain. The minister requested to stop haunting the actor.

There is a hidden agenda behind the allegations in connection with the games. Those against the games had sent a letter to the Indian Olympic Association. They also alleged that the construction work of the stadium is incomplete. Mohanlal’s programme was fixed as per the direction of the games committee. The government first decided to call A R Rehman, but the remuneration asked was too high and so we canceled the idea. Those in the secretariat of the national games have officials appointed by the previous government. Their political motive should be studied.

Thiruvanchoor said the games are moving forward flawlessly. I have directed to conduct the valedictory function in a fair and smooth manner. The function will be conducted with minimum amount. The state is conducting the games less than Rs 31 crores of Jharkhand Games in 2011.

I have not noticed chief secretary’s criticisms on the games. If there is any, I will reply for that.

Sachin had informed earlier his inconvenience to attend the closing ceremony of the games.
