THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In the CPI State Executive, the faction under Kanam Rajendran has shown its dominance by including four new faces and side-lining K E Ismail faction.
The 31-member State committee was truncated to 21. National council member C Divakaran , who had been facing action over Thiruvananthapuram Lok Sabha seat, returned to State Executive.
New faces N Rajan, C B Binu, Chinchu Rani and P Prasad are Kana Rajendran loyalists. V P Unnikrishnan, P S Supal, T V Balan, Latha Devi, R Ramachandran, M P Achuthan and A Sivarajan were avoided. It was V P Unnikrishnan who had suggested K E Ismail’s name to the post of State Secretary and P S Supal had backed it. Prakash Babu and Sathyan Mokeri are the new assistant secretaries.
