KOCHI: The CBI will have to sweat a lot in order to deport 230-cr nursing recruitment scam accused Uthuppu Varghese to India from Kuwait. Uthup’s alleged close relationship with Central BJP ministers will come to his advantage. It is reported that some BJP-Congress leaders had helped Uthup to flee from India, as soon as the scam broke out.
Despite coming to know that Uthuppu was in Kuwait, Central and State governments are not taking any step to arrest him. In the Kuwait office of Alzarafa, Uthup is still active with his recruitment job. TV channels had also flashed the clippings of his office. But no political party has come out against him. It is alleged that attempts are on to influence the CBI to delay the legal procedures and help the accused flee to a country with which India has no mutual agreement on deportation.
