THRISSUR: A youth was arrested in connection with the incident of attempting to kill a girl by knocking her down with a car for rejecting his love. The accused identified as Shibin was arrested from Palani. His father Surendran was also taken into custody. The police had recovered the Swift Car used by him from near his relative’s house in Palakkal in the district
The accused hit her when the victim identified as Aligra (21), daughter of late Sunil Kumar, was returning home from the temple Tuesday morning. Six including four women sustained injuries when they tried to save her. When more locals started arriving at the spot, he fled from the spot.
Aligra and Shibin were in the same tutorial college for degree course. She had that time rejected his love offer. The police said the attack was his revenge towards her.
