Udayamperur IOC plant strike called off

KOCHI: LPG gas workers under Udayamperur IOC plant, who had been on strike  for the past several days, have called off the strike.  The decision was taken to withdraw the strike after certain agreements were reached in the discussions held in a meeting headed by Assistant Labour Commissioner on Monday evening.

The IOC officials said the workers would resume work on Tuesday  and the supply mechanism will normalise within 15 days.
The workers had started strike from Thursday last under the aegis of Joint action council, following which the supply of LPG cylinders had been badly affected in eight districts.

Meanwhile, Paripally IOC plant strike has not ended and as result shortage of supply has become severe in southern districts.
