THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: PC George, who has been on warpath against Finance Minister K M Mani, was on Friday suspended from Kerala Congress (M). He was also removed as the vice-chairman of the party as well as from committees in which he had been representing the party.
George became renegade after he started going public with the demand that Party Chairman Mani should resign as minister.
Following this, George was removed as Government chief Whip, the post which had the cabinet rank. But he didn’t stop there and continued to lash out against Mani now and then, resulting in the party taking harsher action against him.
The allegation against George now is that he worked against the party and tried to demean the party. The suspension was evoked as per the 28th clause of Party Constitution. However, George retains primary membership in the party.
