THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Opposition leader V S Achuthanandan attacked the chief minister and his cabinet colleagues for corruption. The state is ruled by the corrupt. He said this is the worst ever government the state has seen as it is neck-deep in corruption.
He said this while inaugurating the strike staged by coordination of pensioners organizations’ state leaders in front of the secretariat pressing for demands like the distribution of pension arrears of KSRTC and taking over the pension distribution.
He termed as ‘cruel’ denying pension to those who had served for the KSRTC. The welfare pensions given to coir employees and widows are also pending. No developmental work is on as there are dues to be given for contractors. Fund has not been allocated to local self-governing bodies. Prices of essential items are spiraling. There is corruption in supplyco and neethi stores.
