NEW DELHI: Opposition leader V S Achuthanandan has alleged that Vigilance advisor V V Augustine who had advised the Vigilance against Finance Minister in the bar bribery case is also an advisor of Quotation teams. “Agusitne who gave advices to bail out Mani has turned Quotation team’s man. I will fight this out legally,” said Achuthanandan.
CPM Secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan has said that the Vigilance seeking legal advisors’ help in the Vigilance case was a challenge to the legal system. It is the investigation officer who has the right to file charge sheet and it is the court’s job to check the legal validity of the report. DGP Jacob Thomas’ revelation that the government interfered in the probe is also a serious issue.
