Sunday, September 18, 2011: Excise Minister K Babu had said that work on a new international terminal will begin soon at the Cochin Airport. He said that the existing international terminal would then be converted into a domestic terminal.
The Minister said that the Director Board meeting of the Cochin International Airport Limited (CIAL) to be held on September 24 would give the final clearance for the new terminal.
According to highly placed sources in the airport the existing domestic airport is likely to be reserved for business jets after the launch of the new international terminal.
