CBI probe not required in TP murder case, says Thiruvanchoor

KOTTAYAM: A CBI probe is not required in the murder case of T P Chandrasekharan, said Home Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan.

The minister said this while responding to Union Minister Mullappally Ramachandran’s statement that the CBI will take over the case if the investigation is not moving in the right direction.

When asked about Mullappally’s statement that only small fries had been caught in the case, Thiruvanchoor said opinions of people differ.

When asked about CPM Kozhikode district leadership’s complaint that the police are haunting party activists in connection with the case, he lauded the police in their investigation and said their duty is to nab the guilty in the case. The police should not be dragged in unnecessary controversies, he added.
